Seal just put out his new cd “Soul” and all I can say is RAWWWWR.
The man’s voice is just delicious, both smooth and raspy at the same time and he can bring a song that melts your heart. LOVE!
This cd is something totally different, a collection of covers of some of the great R&B hits from classics like Ben E. King, Sam Cooke and The Blue Notes.
If you enjoy a good reincarnation of a song then you’re going to enjoy this cd. If you like Seal you’re going to find it a departure from his standard sound, but still uniquely HIM.

I personally loved the majority of songs on this disc….there are a few that stand out, “If You Don’t Know Me By Now” and “I’m Still In Love With You” are melty, lovey songs that make you want to go participate in an interlude…you know the kind I’m talking about.

I’m off to email all two of my friendses about this contest–but am going to include a threat that they better not win the CD instead of me. And if they do, I expect to see a CD shaped present under my Christmas tree. *evil grin*

Y’know, I couldn’t decide if you meant we should tell our fave cover song of all time, or Seal’s. So I’ll do both.
I had a dickens of a time deciding what I’d choose for an all time fave. It was a tough decision between Pat Boone’s Smoke on the Water and Bill Shatner’s Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Tee hee! But seriously–and only for a moment–being a true 80’s chick, I’d have to say one that’s right up there is China Girl by David Bowie.
As for Seal, I decided my fave cover on this CD (so far) would have to be It’s Alright. Oooooh, what a voice!
