As a child, we always spent the weekend before Christmas with my mom’s side of the family at my grandparents retirement home. A visit to their retirement home at Christmas almost always meant going down to their fancy dining room where my grandmother would tell us that we could order whatever we wanted because the meals were pre-paid and cost the same no matter how much or how little food we ordered. One Christmas, my siblings and I were forced to fast from desserts for the month leading up to Christmas, which we were not happy about (what kid would be?) I ate my first dessert in 3.5 weeks that night, and what did I choose? Vanilla soft serve ice cream; I think it was the best ice cream I ever had. That, however, was not the best part of the night. After returning to my grandparents apartment, my mom and I opened a gift that was from my grandmother and grandfather. My grandmother had taken a picture of me from when I was 2 and turned it into a cross stitch pattern. She got my grandfather to frame it the completed cross stitch. The cross stitch has something like 40 different colors of thread, and took her 120 hours to complete. I, to this day, am still amazed that she was able to cross stitch my head, and am re-amazed by this feat each time I return home and see my cross stitched head along with the cross stitched heads of my three brothers hanging in the living room at my parents house.
Video…cute, informative, maybe a tad bit wordy. It could’ve used an intermission. I have a kiddo who would be THRILLED to find this under her tree on Christmas morning! So, pretty please, pickmepickmepickmepickme!

My favorite Christmas memory is my daughters first one. She may have been just about to turn one but to see the response in her eyes and the happiness of sharing it with family was enough to sell me on the real meaning of Christmas.
One of my fave Christmas memories: When I was younger we would always eat supper at my Aunt’s house, and during that time, Santa would come and hide a bag full of presents across the alley at my Grandparent’s house. After we were done eating, we would walk over there and look outside for the bag of presents. LOVED it.
This Christmas will be great! last Christmas my son was a patient at Duke after a shotgun accident. Last Christmas was sad but this year is terrific! After thinking he would lose his leg, he still has it and is doing fine! I’m so glad that is behind us!
Yup very long, had to switch you off half way through - sorry.
But anyway, my Christmas memory which is in fact rather fitting involves me, my car, snow and a cute little fawn on Christmas Eve in Scotland. Crash, bang, wallop … it wasnt pretty.
Stephanies last blog post..
Christmas 1998. I had just returned to American Airlines (as a flight attendant) after an extended family leave after F’s birth. He was 8 months old and I had a trip on my schedule for December 24-26th. I was devastated knowing that I wouldn’t be home for his 1st Christmas! My sweet husband gave me some cash and I was able to pay another flight attendant to work my trip for me. Yes it was bribery and yes it was AWESOME! There’s nothing like being home for Christmas!!!
When I was little we lived in a very old house with a huge foyer in the front. We would get a verrry tall tree and put it in the corner of the foyer by the steps and had to walk up the steps to decorate the top. Every year we would take a picture by the tree standing on those steps.

Any products that are reviewed on this site are either purchased by me or have been provided by the manufacturing company.
I won't tell you anything but my opinion of the products and you may stand a really good chance of winning anything I am given as a sample in upcoming contests.
Dear PR Person/Company Owner,
Here are some of my limitations:
1. I will only review things that are pertinent to my life, so don't send me samples of motor oil or size 4 clothing. Although, if you do want to send those things, I can use them as giveaways, but I won't be able to give a coherent review.
2. If you do want me to review something, you have to send me a sample because I won't give an opinion of something I haven't tried. I WILL not post your press release, so save us both some time on that one.
3. If you'd like to place an ad on my site, pay for product placement, offer me wads of cash for doing very little....feel FREE!
4. I will give an honest opinion of all products, so make sure it's a good one!
If you'd like to contact me about a review of your product, you can also contact me at Anissa.Mayhew(at)gmail(dot)com.
